Our trip to Cummins Falls State Park was so beautiful, we felt the need to share it, even though it's a bit different than our other posts.

We were visiting Nashville, TN for the weekend and had heard great things about Cummins Falls. It's about an hour drive east of Nashville, and totally worth it. It's a day use area only, so overnight camping is prohibited. We went on a Friday, so it wasn't too busy. Arriving around 12:00, we parked and started the trail right from the parking lot. We took the Blackburn Fork River Trail which takes you along the river for the 1 mile walk, requiring you to cross the water a few times to stay on the trail. Once you reach the falls, it is breath taking. Cummins Falls is Tennessee's 8th largest waterfall in volume, and is 75 feet high. The falls and watering hole allows for swimming, rock jumping, and has plenty of flat areas for picnics or photo-ops.

I would highly recommend Cummins Falls. It was an awesome day trip and provided a much needed break from the city.
